Book Clubs

NCL currently has five active Book Groups which meet anywhere from once a month to once every couple of months in members homes to discuss books chosen by the group.  Contact Membership to see if there are openings.

Gourmet Groups

There are five Gourmet Groups consisting  of 8 to 12 members who meet every 4-8 weeks, generally from September - June.  Each member is partnered with another member and hosts a gourmet dinner in their home for the rest of the group on a rotating basis.   Some groups also host couples dinners once or twice over the year.

Supper Clubs

A Supper Club consists of 8-12 members and meets about every 6 weeks.  The host picks a theme and makes the main dish.  The other members are assigned appetizers, side dishes, wine, or dessert to complement the theme or the main dish.  Everyone takes a turn hosting over the course of the year.

Babysitting Co-ops

NCL has two babysitting cooperatives, Town Hill and Town Center.  A babysitting cooperative consists of 12 -15 families who provide babysitting services for one another.  Instead of paying for a sitter, members trade off babysitting sitting services and are "paid" based on a points system (i.e., if you sit for someone's children you earn points, if they sit for your children, you pay them points).  Each member acts as secretary on a rotating basis to arrange the sits (usually about once a year), and there is a chairperson and bookkeeper to keep track of the sits.  The members of these co-ops are CPR and first aid certified, must attend an annual meeting, and must abide by the General Rules set forth for each Co-op.  For information on availability, contact Membership.

Bunco

Bunco is a dice game  played with 12 players , four players at  each table.  Players roll for points and "buncos" (3 of a kind).  Roll the most points and/or Buncos and you can win.  Lose the most games, and you still might win!  Partners change throughout the game, so it is a great chance to meet new people.  There are currently 2 active Bunco groups.  If you are interested in starting a new Bunco group, contact Membership.

Scrapbooking Club

The Scrapbooking Club meets once a month to crop their pictures and work on their albums.  They meet in a large open space where everyone can spread out their materials.  This is a excellent way to organize photos and put them in an album for future generations to enjoy.  Contact Membership for more information.
