Saturday October 18 at Holmes Fields on Myrtle Street.

The raindate is Saturday, October 25.

This annual event, co-sponsored by NCL and Norfolk Lions, has become the traditional kick-off for the Halloween season in Norfolk.

Geared towards kids from Kindergarten thru Middle School, the miniature train rides through the woods past many decorated and haunted scenes.  The Train Ride gets scarier as it get darker.  The Spooky Maze is another venue for the kids to enjoy!  There will be a concession stand and other activities while in line.

A true community event, the haunters are from groups within Norfolk and beyond.  Girl and Boy Scouts carve and decorate the pumpkins for the pumpkin patch.  Local teens help out throughout all phases of the event.

The proceeds from the event will benefit worthy Norfolk causes through the work of NCL and the Lions.  In the past, the Haunted Train Ride has raised over $100,000 and benefited such causes as Stony Brook, the Norfolk Grange, Norfolk Schools, Norfolk Library, Santa Foundation, DARE, Norfolk Seniors, Norfolk Fire and Police, Norfolk Girls Softball, Norfolk Together and Norfolk Town Hill Walkways.

Tickets are limited to 1700 riders.  Tickets are sold in advance during September.  This year's sale dates are: Tues-Thurs Sept 16-18 from 3 to 7pm at the Norfolk Library.  Tickets are $6 each and entitle the bearer to one ride and one trip through the maze.  Tickets are non-refundable.  Stop by to get your tickets before they are gone!

Do you have any suggestions for this year's ride?  Feel free to contact us at hauntedtrainride@gmail.com, Tara Spellman at 508-380-1993, or Tracy Hilfrank at 508-541-2388.
